Client Overview

Lisa Howe is a Culture & Workforce Development Consultant with nearly 20 years' experience in Film and TV production, development and strategy. Working with clients including BAFTA, the British Film Institute, the British Film Commission, and regional screen agencies across the UK.

In 2022, following a long-held interest, Lisa began formal RHS horticulture training. hat started as personal enrichment has grown into the early stages of a second, parallel career in sustainable horticulture, bringing her a step closer to the portfolio career she has been quietly working towards.

The Challenge

Lisa's challenge was to create a cohesive personal brand capable of carrying two very different careers at once. She needed a brand that could:

  • Reassure her established Film/TV client base that this work remains a priority, not something being wound down.

  • Build credibility in horticulture, a sector wary of career-changers without hands-on, 'proper' grounding.

  • Connect the dots between two seemingly separate worlds, without collapsing either into the other.

  • Stay authentic to a career still very much in progress, signalling exploration honestly, rather than presenting a finished package.

Underpinning all of this was a single, quieter question: how could a brand hold both a 20-year reputation and a first chapter at the same time, and make that feel like one coherent story rather than competing.

The Process

  1. Understanding the Vision

    • We started with Lisa's career history and identified her personal values (courage, compassion and connection) to find the thread that already ran through both worlds: creating fairer, more sustainable places for people to work and grow, whether that's a film set or a garden. This shared purpose, rather than either sector alone, became the foundation for the brand.

  2. Brand Positioning & Personality

    • We shaped purpose, mission and vision statements broad enough to serve both careers honestly, anchored by three brand values: Integrity, Empathy and Sustainability. To hold Lisa's dual position, established authority in Film/TV and open newcomer in horticulture, we drew on two complementary archetypes: The Sage, for knowledgeable, guiding confidence, and The Everyman, for authentic, humble connection. Together they gave Lisa permission to lead with expertise in one space and openness in the other, without contradiction.

  3. Tone of Voice

    • A three-part voice, (Quietly) Confident, Personable and Insightful, lets Lisa's writing flex between contexts: assured and to the point for consultancy clients, warmer and more exploratory when talking about her horticulture journey, but always recognisably her.

  4. Visual Identity

    • The visual identity needed to feel credible in a boardroom and grounded in a garden. A palette of forest green, stone blue, peach orange, coral pink and pastel pink gave a natural, calming feel without tipping into whimsy, paired with the Campton typeface family for a clean, contemporary, approachable finish. A simple mark-led logo family, supporting iconography, shapes and organic patterns complete a flexible system that scales from a business card to a social media template.

  5. Bringing It Together

    • The result is captured under one customer-facing value proposition, Creating space for sustainable change, deliberately broad enough to describe a culture-change programme for a film studio or a biodiversity project for a garden, letting Lisa speak from one brand, whichever room she's in.

The Outcome

Lisa now has a single, flexible brand identity that lets her move fluidly between Film/TV consultancy and horticulture without fragmenting her reputation or her authenticity. Existing clients see continuity and confidence; new contacts in horticulture see someone who is credible, honest about being early in that journey, and clearly driven by the same values across both worlds. Rather than presenting a finished, polished story, the brand gives Lisa room to keep exploring her niche in sustainable horticulture, in the open, and on her own terms.
