Project Overview

Kat came with an idea for an online post-box gifting experience inspired by her love of relaxing in a hot bath, sending thoughtful gifts, and a name inspired by her fiancé. This deeply personal project needed a brand identity that captured its unique essence and appeal.

 

Key Objectives

  • Shape and expand initial ideas to create a cohesive and compelling brand identity.

  • Design a playful yet premium look that reflects Kat’s personality and vision.

  • Develop a visual identity inspired by her handcrafted products and natural approach.

 

Approach and Execution

1. Exploring the Vision:
We worked closely with Kat to uncover the deeper significance of her concept. This wasn’t just about gifts; it was about creating spontaneous, heartfelt experiences for amazing women—mothers, daughters, friends, and fiancés. This insight shaped the brand’s direction.

 

2. Visual Identity Development:
Inspired by the handcrafted nature of Kat’s products and her love of natural elements:

  • Colour Palette: A natural palette anchored by deep burgundy, reflecting the beetle theme and connecting to the brand name’s inspiration.

  • Typography: A playful, unusual, yet elegant font was chosen to represent the brand, balancing fun with sophistication.

  • Graphic Elements: Repetitive patterns and overlays to evoke a dynamic yet cohesive feel.

 

3. Brand Voice and Application:
The tone of voice and design elements were carefully balanced to reflect Kat’s fun yet premium aesthetic:

  • Playful Language: Alliteration and lighthearted copy to add charm and relatability.

  • Photography and Overlays: Classy, yet fun imagery combined with colour overlays - to add a steam screen effect - to create a polished, premium look.

  • Marketing Materials: A cohesive suite of assets for social media, packaging, and promotional content.
